On November 2, 2024, the Bangladeshi Association of Bay of Plenty (BABOPI) marked a proud milestone with its inaugural community event held in Tauranga. The occasion was warmly acknowledged by local MP and National Party member Hon. Sam Uffindell, who shared his support in a Facebook post.
“The Bangladeshi Association of Bay of Plenty held their inaugural event in Tauranga this evening. Such a great community! Thank you for making the Bay home,” wrote Mr. Uffindell, expressing his appreciation with both Bangladeshi and New Zealand flags.
